Liposuction in Boise, Idaho
Liposuction is one of the most commonly performed procedures in the United States today. Liposuction can be a safe and effective
procedure for patients who have developed areas of subcutaneous fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. The procedure can improve
the contours of the neck, chest, back, abdomen, hips, thighs and ankles.
Liposuction is often performed in combination with other procedures. The operation has evolved over the past several years as techniques
and equipment have become more effective. We currently use the tumescent technique with a powered liposuction unit that makes contouring more
accurate and reduces time in the operating room. This is generally done as an out patient procedure.

A compression garment will be worn for 2 weeks to help reduce swelling and improve post-operative contour. We often utilize ultrasound
and endermologie after surgery to enhance our results.
Unfortunately, there are a number of procedures being performed by physicians who are not trained in plastic surgery. These non plastic
surgeons often utilize technologies that have catchy names and are expensive but in clinical trials have not shown any significant improvements
over the standard tumescent liposuction techniques. Patients are advised to select a procedure that is safe and effective based on scientific
results performed by a board certified plastic surgeon and to ignore the marketing hype so common today.
