About Craig B. Bass, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Bass received his undergraduate premedical training from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida and his degree in Medicine from the University of Miami Medical School, Miami, Florida. He completed a year of internship at Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, where he received the Best Surgical Intern award.

Dr. Bass served in the United States Navy and the Navy Reserve. He was discharged with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

He then completed four years of general surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. He received the Best Teachers award in his senior year. He then completed two years of plastic and reconstructive surgery under D. Ralph Millard, Jr., M.D., one of the preeminent plastic surgeons of the world.

He served as the director of the Burn Unit at the University of Miami for three years and held an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery for ten years.

Dr. Bass is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is also board-eligible in Anti-Aging Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine. This universal interest in the healing arts represents his core principles and philosophy. It is as important to heal and to improve self esteem from the inside out as to restore and beautify from the outside in, thus creating an ideal blend of form, function and beauty.

Dr. Bass is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

He practiced in Miami, Florida until 1981. He ran the Burn Unit at the University of Miami from 1972 until 1975. In 1981 he moved his practice to Sun Valley, Idaho. While in Sun Valley he was the Director of the Cleft Palate Clinic for South Central Idaho for 25 years.

He is a member of several surgical societies. He has written numerous articles for scientific publications and a chapter on burn care for the text book Patient Care in Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Bass has enjoyed his many years serving his patients in the wonderful state of Idaho. He now practices full time in Boise, Idaho.

He currently has privileges at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Health South Treasure Valley Hospital and the Eagle Surgery Center in the Boise area.
